29 Aug Staff Spotlight: Paul Pope

Each month we will introduce you to a member of the Providential team. In this edition, we would like you to meet Paul Pope, our Lawns & Maintenance Supervisor. When did you join Providential Homes? I came to Providential Homes about 18 months ago as the Lawns & Maintenance Program Supervisor. I am now also a Caretaker at the Blacktown property. What’s your day-to-day role? I am a jack-of-all-trades, so it is never boring! I supervise the lawns and garden maintenance of all our properties, deliver food boxes and meals to our homes and food boxes when requested to people in need in the community. I also help supervise the furniture donations and what is available, as well as sign in new guests each day, show them to their rooms...

23 Aug Blacktown Home Opening

We are very excited to open our newly built home in Blacktown, specially built to help expand the services we offer to all our guests! To help commemorate this special occasion Providential Homes held a special opening, with ribbon cutting, guests and morning tea. The Blacktown home was built with special facilities and ammenities for the disabled, and offers shared accommodation for families and singles. Providential Homes heads out each week to Parramatta Park to hold BBQ and outreach programs for those in the community who are homeless and in need. 03 Aug Wrapped With Love

Wrapped With Love is a charitable organisation who organise handmade blankets to be brought together from all over Australia and distributed to those in need. Providential Homes received regular deliveries of these beautiful handmade blankets which we distribute to all our guests in our accommodations as a gift to keep. Thank you so much to Wrapped With Love for their ongoing support and generosity. They have made so many peoples' lives that much warmer, especially during these winter months....

I joined the company on the 1st of June 2015 and have loved every minute of it! What’s your day-to-day role? My main role is to take calls from various organisations. When I receive a call, it is usually to book in an individual, couple or family into one of our properties in order to provide temporary accommodation. 03 Apr Annual CEO Cookoff

Providential Homes was excited to attend the annual CEO Cookoff, hosted by OzHarvest and held at Barrangaroo. The event consisted of 40 of Australia’s top chefs, including Peter Gilmore, Neil Perry, Matt Moran and Colin Fassnidge, and some of our countries top CEO’s, cooking a three course meal for the recipients of OzHarvest’s service. Larry Emdur was the special guest MC for the evening. Several Providential Homes staff attended the evening, taking with them 15 of our guests from our accommodations, and by all accounts it was a fantastic evening and everyone enjoyed the amazing dishes. Providential Homes greatly appreciates the relationship it has with OzHarvest, and can’t wait for next years CEO Cookoff....
