Maria’s Story

Transitional Program

Moved into a rental near her children’s school

Maria, a single mother in her early forties, came to our refuge after leaving an unsafe living situation. She was offered a place in our Transitional Program, providing her and her children with much-needed stability.

During her stay, Maria actively applied for private rentals and worked closely with support staff, even when repeated setbacks felt discouraging. Her determination paid off when she was approved for a rental close to her children’s school.

Recently, Maria and her children moved into their new home and are settling in with a renewed sense of security and hope, in perfect timing right before Christmas.

Names have been changed to protect the privacy and safety of our guests.
