Helping people find home again

Since 2010, Providential Homes has been supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness by providing safe accommodation, practical support and pathways to long-term housing. Every day, we work to restore stability, dignity and hope for people rebuilding their lives.

Our story

From five townhouses to thousands of lives changed

Providential Homes was established in March 2010 with five brand-new four-bedroom townhouses in Rooty Hill, responding to the growing need for supported temporary accommodation across Western Sydney. Since then, we’ve grown to provide accommodation for individuals, couples and families across multiple locations throughout New South Wales.

In 2013, we opened a dedicated warehouse to expand our support beyond housing. Today, it serves as the hub for our food assistance and household support programs, distributing meals, food hampers, furniture and essential household items to people experiencing homelessness and hardship.

Today, our work extends beyond temporary accommodation. We help people take meaningful steps towards long-term stability through community housing initiatives, household support and strong partnerships with government, community organisations and generous supporters.

Led by founders Warren and Cheryle Weir

Providential Homes was founded by Warren and Cheryle Weir, whose combined experience in education, business and community development laid the foundation for the organisation’s mission.

Following Warren’s 25-year career with the NSW Department of Education and Cheryle’s experience in business, they established Connections, a community development organisation that partnered with Landcom, Mirvac, Australand and Stockland to build stronger communities in new housing estates across Australia.

Through this work, they witnessed the growing challenge of homelessness and housing insecurity, inspiring them to establish Providential Homes in 2010. Together with an experienced leadership team, Warren and Cheryle continue to lead Providential Homes with a shared commitment to helping people find home again.
